About Us
Forged in fire, brewed with honor.
And then the world went crazy...
Our adventure didn't begin with a brewing course or a beer tasting. It began with the pandemic. While the world stood still, we discovered an ancient passion in September 2020: brewing beer. What started as a hobby quickly turned into an obsession.
Early on, the vision emerged of a brewery that doesn't just brew beer, but tells stories. We wanted to create a brewery as unique as the beers themselves. We wanted to explore this liquid gold.
And so the idea for the Götter Brauerei was born – out of chaos, creativity, and a pinch of madness. We already had our logo designed in February 2021. However, it took a little while longer before the company was officially founded.
We said YES!
In March 2022, the time had finally come: we officially founded the Götter Brauerei. It was a moment full of excitement, pride, and a healthy dose of nervousness. We signed the founding documents, registered our first domain, and laid the foundation for what was to come. It was the starting shot for our adventure in the world of beer.
The Godless
On April 29, 2022, our first beer was released: the Amber Ale. It was more than just a beer. It was a brew that already embodied the very essence of what the Götter Brauerei is all about: creativity, quality, and a pinch of madness. We wanted to create a beer that attacks the stylistic conventions of an Amber Ale. It was a beer meant to surprise and excite people. And it was the first step on our journey to becoming a brewery that doesn't just brew beer, but tells stories.
The Mythology Saga
In July 2022, the Mythology Saga began with the release of our first mythology beers. It was a moment of immense pride and excitement as we launched our first mythology beer series.
It all started with a tale from Norse mythology. It was clear to us from the very beginning that we didn't just want to brew beer, but beers that tell stories. Beers that take people on a journey and immerse them in the fascinating worlds of mythologies. It was the dawn of a saga that continues to this day, allowing us to unleash our creativity and craft beers as unique as the legends they recount. For this exact reason, we didn't want traditional beer labels. They had to be works of art that visually brought the stories of the beers to life. And so we began collaborating with the talented artist Brookesia Studio to create labels that are not only beautiful to look at, but also capture the essence of the beers and their epic tales.
Deep in the Südpol
The first public appearance is something every microbrewery will likely remember well. For us, it was the "Bier Festival Luzern" on April 22, 2023, at the Südpol in Kriens (Lucerne). It was a day full of excitement, nervousness, and anticipation as we presented our beers to a wide audience for the very first time. It was an opportunity to show the fruits of our labor and witness people's reactions to our brews firsthand. It was also a chance to gather valuable feedback and exchange ideas with fellow brewers and beer lovers. This day marked a crucial milestone in our journey as a brewery and gave us the motivation and drive to push forward and make our beers even better.
A New Forge of the Gods
A lot was happening behind the scenes. We realized early on that we wanted more and that we were capable of more. And so we started forging plans for a new Forge of the Gods. It was an ambitious project, but it was also a natural step in our evolution as a brewery, giving us the opportunity to further realize our vision of a storytelling brewery. In September 2023, it was finally done: Our new Forge of the Gods was completed. Deus ex Machina!
Our Own Halls
Naturally, we couldn't build this new Forge of the Gods in our own home, so we had to find a dedicated space. After a long search, we found the perfect spot right in our neighborhood. In the old industrial area of the Victoria-Werke in Baar, we found the ideal hall for our brewery. Since October 2023, we have been brewing in our own halls, and it feels like we have found a true home. It's a place where we brew our beers, but also host events and bring a community of beer lovers together. It is a place where we can continue to bring our vision of a storytelling brewery to life.
Forging New Paths
In 2025, during what was already our sixth mythology, we changed our concept for the very first time. From a previous 6-month mythology cycle, we switched to a 12-month concept to have more time for the development and the overall experience of our beers.
This also gave us the opportunity to fulfill a little dream. Besides our beers, we also stand for the heavy sounds of metal music. We wanted to connect these two worlds, and so the idea of combining our beer releases with live concerts was born. On March 21, 2025, the time had finally come. To celebrate the spring equinox, we released our first beer from Celtic mythology - Teutates.
The evening was accompanied by the Valais folk metal band Tylangir, who provided the perfect musical backdrop for the release of our new beer with their powerful sound. It was an evening full of energy, passion, and a unique connection between beer and music, showing us that we are on the right track to further realizing our vision of a brewery that tells stories.
