Teutates
The first deity from our Celtic mythology series is Teutates, an Amber Ale with spelt malt and refined with linden blossoms.
The second deity from our Celtic mythology series is Artio, a Session IPA with spelt malt and Elixir hops.
At the summer solstice, when the sun reaches its highest point and the days are at their longest, Artio steps out from the shadows of the forests. She is the Celtic bear goddess, the guardian of the wilderness, and a symbol of seemingly inexhaustible vitality and abundance.
In our series of four animal beings, she is represented by the mighty bear. Artio is not a wild beast, but a protective mother of nature. She roams through the deep forests, knowing every path and every clearing. She embodies summer in all its glory: powerful, warm, and full of life. Where she walks, nature thrives.
For the longest days of the year, a beer is needed that is light enough to quench thirst, yet characterful enough to please a bear goddess: A Session IPA.
Here too, our ancient Celtic grain, spelt malt, forms the base. It provides a lean but earthy body that forms the foundation for the true star of this beer: The Elixir hop.
This special hop is tailor-made for Artio. It brings intense notes of red berries, citrus fruits, and a fine spiciness into the glass. It’s as if the bear had gathered the best wild fruits on her roam through the forest and added them directly into the brew. Fruity-fresh, natural, and with a pleasant lightness – a divine companion for balmy summer nights.
Do not follow the paths – follow the wind, the tracks in the moss, the stories the forest whispers to you.
