The Legend

For the god of the underworld Hades we have brewed a fine malty Red Ale!

The fate of Hades began in the dark – in the stomach of his own father. As the son of the Titan Cronus, he was one of those children swallowed directly after birth, as a prophecy foretold that Cronus would one day be overthrown by his own offspring. Only Zeus, who escaped the father, was able to free Hades and his siblings from this living prison.

What followed was the massive battle of the Titans, in which the three brothers – Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades – fought side by side against the old order. After their victory, they divided the cosmos among themselves. While Zeus claimed the sky and Poseidon the oceans, the lot of the underworld fell to Hades. He became the undisputed ruler of the realm of the dead, a strict but just guardian over those who have left their earthly existence behind.

The Beer

For the god of the deep, we chose a style that brings warmth and character to the darkness: An Irish Red Ale.

This beer captivates with its beautiful, reddish color – like the distant glow of the rivers of the underworld – and its fine, malt-forward body. Caramel notes and a gentle roastiness dominate the first impression.

But the true secret lies in the detail: We refined this beer with the hop variety “Zeus”. It is a symbolic reunion of the brothers in the kettle. Just as Zeus once freed Hades from the darkness, the Zeus hop ensures with its spicy power that the malty sweetness does not take over and the beer remains in perfect balance. A divine reunion in the glass.

After the battle against my father Cronus, I divided the cosmos among myself and my brothers Poseidon and Zeus… I now rule over the underworld!
