Sometimes a brewery just has to take a leap into the unknown and break new ground. The Sakura Omen marks a major milestone in our brewing history: It is the very first sour ale ever to come out of Götter Brauerei! Because of its experimental nature, it has earned its rightful place in our Mere Mortals series.
The Beer
The Sakura Omen is a true visual and sensory highlight. While the technical color scale might suggest otherwise, the beer shines in the glass in a gorgeous, vibrant crimson red – a real head-turner!
At its core lies a crisp, refreshing acidity combined with sweet cherry juice, giving this sour ale a beautifully juicy and vibrant character. And what about the wasabi? Well, to be honest, we were a little cautious with the dosage – you won’t get any nose-burning heat, but if you taste closely, you might catch a subtle, complex herbal nuance in the background!
