Aurora Polaris – the Southern Lights in a glass
At the southernmost point of the earth, in the eternal cold of Antarctica, they dance across the sky: the Aurora Polaris (Southern Lights). They are a spectacular natural phenomenon that bathes the darkness in magical green light.
Just like these lights, the Südpol cultural center in Kriens is a shining fixture in the cultural landscape. A place for music, theater, and encounters that radiates. Anyone who knows us knows: we don’t do things by halves. For this special place, we didn’t want a simple label-beer, but a liquid interpretation of the name and the design. A beer as clear and fascinating as the light spectacle itself.
Fitting the name “Südpol” and the biting cold of Antarctica, there was only one logical style: a Cold IPA.
This beer is a technical masterpiece of freshness. Brewed with flaked corn, the body is extremely lean, dry, and “crisp” – like the air at the polar circle. The lager yeast was fermented at higher temperatures to create a clean but expressive profile.
But the true star is the hops. We decided on a single-hop version, and the name said it all: Polaris. This hop is unique in the beer world. It doesn’t bring tropical fruits, but an incredible, cool freshness to the glass: glacier ice candy, mint, eucalyptus, and herbal notes. A sip as refreshing and radiant as the green aurora on the white can.
Only available at Südpol Kriens!
