Mere Mortals: The Rebellion of the Mortals

Since the dawn of the Götter Brauerei, we have dedicated our brews to ancient myths, legendary beasts, and almighty creators. Our pantheon is filled with tales from Asgard, the Celtic forests, and the Japanese underworld. But what happens when the gods fall silent? What happens when we break free from all mythological chains and just want to celebrate absolute madness in the brewing kettle?

The answer to this is our new series: Mere Mortals.

The Philosophy: Our Extreme Series

The “Mere Mortals” series exists entirely outside our usual mythological concept. It is our untamed playground – an “Extreme Series” where we, as brewers, take absolute control and leave mythology behind.

Here, there are no stylistic limits and no regard for conventions. We experiment with absurd amounts of hops, push the alcohol content to the limit, play with unusual yeast strains, or test completely new brewing techniques. It is the place for beers that are simply too wild, too extreme, or too experimental to be squeezed into an ancient divine saga. Pure craftsmanship, without compromise.

This series does not follow a fixed release cycle. Also, these creations will only be brewed a single time.

The Mark of Rebellion: The Emblem

To ensure you realize at first glance that you don’t have a standard god-beer in front of you, but an escalation of the mortals, every beer in this series bears an unmistakable trademark:

A striking emblem featuring a skull, two crossed bones underneath, and the clear lettering “Mere Mortals”.

This symbol sits proudly on the label. It is, in a way, both our warning sign and our seal of quality. When you see this skull on a can, a bottle, or at the tap, you know exactly: no gentle gift from the gods awaits you here, but a massive impact. A beer brewed outside the norm.

The Beginning: Malakor

The starting shot for this new era is Malakor. Named after an absolute, dead wasteland, this beer forms the perfect taste contrast to its dark inspiration. It is a massive DDH DIPA (Double Dry Hopped Double IPA) with a proud 8.2% ABV that, thanks to an overdose of the hop varieties Talus and Motueka, is absolutely bursting with tropical fruitiness and juiciness.

The gods may have created heaven and earth, but for the most extreme brews, we mortals are in charge. Look out for the skull emblem – the rebellion has only just begun.
